If you get overwhelmed when you see thousands of unread articles on your RSS reader, inducing notification anxiety, or you don't want to see all the news about literally everything, but instead, just want to browse certain topics or "moods," which can be more specific than the categories you have created for your feeds, you can use the rules and filters for very specific things to filter the articles in your subscribed feeds. These can be words mentioned in articles (it can include or not include certain words). This is basically Thunderbird's same functionality to filter emails, but you can also use it for RSS feeds.
